Proposal for my music magazine

My Proposal




For my music magazine I intend to produce a pop magazine, including weird styles such as lady gaga's, and rough styles like Kesha and Pixie Lott. The target audience will be teenagers, mostly girls as the magazine will feature more female artists. The style of my magazine will be up to date with fashion and style of pop singers and groups but have a rougher, edgyer style as well, to make it more unique and individual.





The front cover will contain a medium close up of my artist and will include pinks and purples, toned down with black and white.

Front Cover


For the front cover of my college magazine I used the outdoor picture with direct mode of address. I did this to pull the reader in. I have lightened the picture so the models features stand out, making her more appealing to the reader. I have used bright colours for the writing as it contrasts with the dark, rough looking wall in the background. I think my magazine would attract college students as it had a fun look about it.

What I like about my cover is that it stands out and it would appeal to its target audience. The strengths of my magazine are the colours as they catch readers attention and represents a fun, happy college.

If i could change anything about my cover i would have more writing and more different features of a magazine to make it look more professional. I will need to think about this when it comes to designing my music magazine.

Contents

For my contents page I used a picture of part of the grounds of prior and brightened it to make it look very appealing. I used a picture which uses the rule of thirds as the 5mph sign is the main feature but it is not in the center. This gives a good effect to the contents page as the colours contrast and stand out.

Negative points of my front cover are that there are no page references which goes against the point of a contents page. If i were to improve the contents page I would have more text and make them able to read as the colours of the text againsnt the background make the writing hard to read.
